Welcome to Mrs. Stumpf's Website
Mrs. Stumpf with her alien
Welcome to Mrs. Stumpf's website. As new students to my classroom, I hope you use this website to your advantage. Now let me tell you a little about myself.
My name is Lisa Stumpf, and I grew up just north of Mayetta. I live on my family's farm with my husband Bill. We have two grown sons, Trey (31) and Lucas (26). I earned my bachelor's degree from Washburn University, and I completed my course work for my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in May 2012. Whew! I am finally done taking tests for awhile. But who knows, I may go back for another degree. I am still contemplating that one.
Now for the good stuff. This website will keep students and parents up to date with what is going on in my classroom. If you are a student and you forgot your assignment, you can look it up here. If you are a parent and you want to know what assignments are due and when, you can look it up here. Here is a list of what will be on the website.
*Weekly Lesson Plans--on or before every Monday. But please remember that sometimes lesson plans
need to change. I will try to edit my plans when changes occur.
*Classroom News--Consists of 5 pages, a page for every Reading/Language Arts Class. Parents, you will want to
look for your student's hour.
* Students' Writing--This page showcases students' writings.
*Handouts--This is where you will find make-up work.
*Links to educational sites to help students study at home
*Link to the Royal Valley Website
If you have any suggestions to make the site more beneficial to students or parents, please e-mail or call me.

I am hoping that this years 7th graders enjoy this experience!
7th Grade Field Trip to TPAC
By: Mrs. Stumpf
Due to the generous donation by the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation, the 7th grade students at RVMS were able to attend the Topeka Performing Arts Center and watch five fantastic plays. The students enjoyed theatrical performances for The Tell Tale Heart, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The Monkey's Paw, The Necklace, and The Jumping Frog of Calaveras County.
The first three plays were appropriate for the approaching holiday--Halloween. The students seemed fascinated by the eerie and spooky scenery and sound effects. I have to admit, even I jumped a couple of times. The Necklace taught a very important lesson to the students--Honesty is always the best policy. Several students commented that they enjoyed this performance a lot. The final play was a little less serious and a tad silly, but the students seemed to enjoy the humor of The Jumping Frog of Calaveras County, which was written by Mark Twain. This was a great learning experience for the students.

"Words are our most inexhaustible source of magic..." Albus Dumbledore---a major character in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. Now, let's take a look at a quote made by J.K. Rowling about reading and writing: "The most important thing is to read as much as you can, like I did. It will give you an understanding of what makes good writing, and it will enlarge your vocabulary."
